Key Stage 3 Assessments

Home | Exams | Key Stage 3 Assessments

Assessments are an important part of learning at Kings’ School. They provide pupils with the opportunity to demonstrate the knowledge and skills they have developed, celebrate their progress and identify the next steps in their learning. While assessments can sometimes feel challenging, pupils should be reassured that they are not facing them alone. Our teachers, tutors and welfare team are here to support every pupil before, during and after each assessment period.

At Key Stage 3, assessments help pupils build confidence, develop effective revision and study habits, and become familiar with working independently in a focused examination environment. They also provide valuable information that helps teachers celebrate success, identify areas for development and plan learning that enables every pupil to achieve their full potential.

Preparing for assessments is about more than revision. Looking after your wellbeing, maintaining healthy routines and asking for support when you need it are all important parts of achieving success.

Successful preparation includes:

  • Being organised and ready
  • Taking responsibility for your own learning
  • Revising regularly and effectively
  • Being resilient and persistent when learning feels challenging
  • Asking for help when you need it
  • Looking after your physical and mental wellbeing
  • Bringing the correct equipment, including pens, pencils, a ruler and a calculator where required

Further guidance and revision resources are available to help pupils prepare confidently for their assessments.
